I love floating shelves. As you’ll see below, you can get them for different rooms and for various storing functions. There are varieties for the kitchen (glassware, dishware and/or recipe books), living room, bathrooms, bedrooms (floating nightstands), home office and more.
While you can make your own, I find given the price on Etsy, it’s worth buying because you get the braces/support materials to properly install them so they hold well. Another great reason for buying floating shelves at Etsy is many of the sellers offer some degree of customization, which is great. For instance, you can order various lengths and/or as many shelving units as are available.
How did I choose my favorite floating shelves on Etsy?
I spent a lot of time scouring the listings (over 3,000 floating shelves for sale on Etsy).
I put together a long list, the filtered that to a shorter list until I ended up with my top 10. I did, however, strive to include variety in my list. For example, I didn’t choose only kitchen or only living room floating shelves.

My Top 10 Floating Shelves For Sale on Etsy
1. White with Hooks
I like this item because it’s simple, offers plenty of shelving space including hooks (hooks are always useful) and can be used in many rooms of the home. It’s narrow so it can be hung in narrow places. It really is a nice addition to pretty much any room and interior design style.
This white chalk painted floating shelf comes with shelves that are 5.5″ deep. The full height is 38″ with a width of 16.5″.
There’s a slight lip on the front to help secure items on the shelf.

2. Pipe-Braced Floating Shelves
I’d be remiss if I failed to include a pipe style floating shelf. Pipe decor is very popular right now and for good reason. It looks cool. The above are simple, sturdy shelves that can enhance any room.

I have to admit when researching examples on Etsy, this floating shelf design popped out on the page. It’s the 3D triangular brackets that make this particular unit shine (especially on a white wall).
