The original master bath in this home was overly traditional, with heavy moldings and outdated materials. The redesign aimed for a more sophisticated aesthetic, along with a larger shower and additional storage space. With a spacious room to work, the redesign and fresh materials create an expansive feeling even with additional storage.
Chocolate toned hickory cabinets enhance the simple styling of the vanity. Tall cabinets on the countertop provide easy access to daily use items while the open shelves allow for direct storage. The tall Carrara marble backsplash holds wall mounted faucets beneath pivot-mounted mirrors. These offer flexible adjustments for height depending on the amount of light coming into the room.
The original tub was replaced with a large armoire from Grabill Cabinet Company, flanked by tall linen cabinets. Watery mirror panels reflect light and add detail to keep the cabinetry wall from appearing monolithic. Porcelain floor tile from Porcelanosa, in a Carrera pattern with dark accents, unites the dark cabinetry with light fixtures and walls.
The Victoria & Albert soaking tub is a dramatic focal point upon entering the master bath. Large format wall tile creates a beautiful backdrop, finished off cleanly with chrome Schluter strips and built-in shelf. The flanking bay windows hold clothes hampers in the same color as the vanity and armoire, providing additional function while tying the look together.
The shower tile is a non-patterned companion of the Porcelanosa wall behind the tub and is also treated with chrome strips on the outside edges. Seamless shower glass stands next to a frosted panel door, allowing light into the water closet space.[shareaholic app=”share_buttons” id=”4926470″]
The free standing soaking tub commands attention at the center, before a patterned tile wall flanked by a pair of bay windows with storage beneath.
Where the original tub was placed, we now have an immense armoire with watery glass door panels. The entire wall is occupied by the lush, dark cabinetry for ample storage.
Vanity features marble countertops reaching up for a 9 inch backsplash, holding wall mounted faucets below pivoting mirrors.
All-glass shower is flush with tile walls and flooring, next to a private water closet space with frosted glass door.
