If your bedroom is in desperate need of a makeover but you don’t have a ton of money to spend, you’re in luck. TikTok creator ayeyiathome made a helpful video that explains a few things you can do to make your bedroom feel luxe for less money and just a tiny bit of effort. Once her makeover was complete, the bedroom looked amazing!
First, she mentions that wallpaper can really take a bland bedroom to the next level. In this video, she applied a gorgeous charcoal gray, snake pattern and textured peel-and-stick wallpaper.

She mentioned that she likes this option because it’s much easier to apply than traditional wallpaper and it also won’t damage the walls underneath. And if you end up not liking your current wallpaper choice, it’s also much easier to change later on.
Next, she discusses how simple wall sconces can really make a bedroom feel warm and cozy. She said that adding wall lights instantly gives a bedroom that “upscale, hotel vibe” and I am here for it! She chose a beautiful pair of brass/gold finished wall sconces in a sleek and simple modern shape.
But what she did next was really surprising: she inserted small puck lights inside the fixture to add a warm glow. She mentions that these little puck lights are great if you want to save money on hardware and installation. And her puck lights also had a remote control! The lights also help to hide wires and make the whole thing renter-friendly.
Finally, the third tip in this awesome TikTok video was to use a lot of wall and floor mirrors. This gives the room a luxe, decorative touch. She hung some mirrors with a black frame on the wall next to the bed and also used a leaning floor mirror, too.
Mirrors not only make any space look more sophisticated and luxurious, but they also reflect the light and can make smaller rooms appear larger than they really are as well.
Feedback
A lot of viewers wanted to know where she got her lights, wallpaper, and her headboard. Someone else asked where she got the mirrors and how she hung them, and Ayeyi replied, “They’re from IKEA, I just drilled 2 screws into the wall to hang.”
Viewer AmyWax really loved the video, saying, “Great ideas! I love that you used Peel and stick paper, so if you want to change up the color in a few years you can do it without a huge expense! Great post!”
I think this video is a great example of how to transform a room easily and with little effort. Simple changes like adding wallpaper, upgrading your lighting, and using mirrors are all things that most people can do, even if they have no DIY experience.
The wallpaper adds texture, the lighting adds warmth and functionality, and the mirrors are the finishing touches that give any bedroom (or any room) a sleek, gorgeous look.
