Expansion project of a semi-detached single-family residence by adding a second floor on an old garage converted into a family room. A bedroom and a private bathroom with walk-in closet occupy the new upstairs areas. On the ground floor, a wall in the family room of the old garage was demolished to open up the space to the living room. The staircase, completely reconfigured, is at the center of the house. It defines spaces and circulation. The dinette area has been connected with the adjacent kitchen and the landscaped backyard with swimming pool.
