The Casa SP is located on a plot of land of approximately 4,000 square meters in Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico, in a privileged enclave surrounded by forest. The house is built on a very slight slope, at the highest point of the land and opening to the south, where the best views are.
Given the spectacular nature of the surroundings, it was considered essential to design a light and simple house in its conception, which would not alter the natural harmony of the place. A ‘L’-shaped plan was chosen, where a day wing (with kitchen, laundry room, living-dining room, and terrace) and a night wing (with 4 bedrooms) are differentiated.
The structural system, equally simple, is based on a concrete ‘skeleton’ within which the house is built. The wooden exterior walls blend in with the materiality of the place, thus emphasizing their contrast with the structure. Within this subtle composition of facades, the roof of the living-dining room stands out, which with its elevation and lightness emphasizes this part of the house above the others.
