Whoever passes in front of Casa do Mar, sees through its large glass windows, a spiral staircase of extreme lightness. Strategically positioned over a reflecting pool, the staircase that seems to have flown down to form a work of art, welcomes anyone who enters the residence.
Casa do Mar is an extremely bright residence, where there is total integration between the social area and the pool area, positioned at the back of the land. This one, with a side view of the sea and integrated into a kind of square, the condominium’s passage area.
On the neighbors’ walk to the seaside, it is possible to see through the glass that surrounds the ground floor. Pure volumetry, natural lighting and large spans and cantilevers are architectural features present in Casa do Mar.
On the second floor, there is a C in exposed concrete, which forms the main volume of the residence. This floor, which has 4 suites, is surrounded by a wooden slat on the outside. When closed, it configures a volume in wood, and, when open, allows abundant natural light to enter the suites, through its large openings.
Wood, concrete and a lot of glass were the materials chosen for the creation of Casa do Mar. In a residence with a program of needs that involves the total integration of social and leisure environments, the choice of large openings that open and hide within the walls was fundamental.
The frames, with a minimalist profile, fit inside the walls, providing amplitude and integration of the environments. When open, the feeling is of a house without frames on the ground floor, allowing the family to live their beach house as a haven for leisure and with great coexistence.
At Casa do Mar, external and internal floors are leveled, also formatting an internal environment that is fully integrated with the external. Other aesthetic features chosen for the external area are also found inside the residence, such as the stone material that gives the lateral volume of the pool.
The light and elegant contemporary architecture predominant on the exterior of the residence, opened space for an interior project that follows the same proposal: straight lines, corten steel, the exposed concrete that structures the residence, very white and natural textures such as wood and stone.
