A Complete Remodel
Noah’s breathtaking NYC penthouse underwent a complete overhaul after he purchased it, and the new renovation was several years in the making. Noah gutted and then reconfigured the penthouse, turning the upper-level primary bedroom suite into the main living area to provide guests with access to the stunning outdoor terrace. He then renovated the lower floor living room to become the main bedroom floor.
A unique floating staircase is located at the main entry gallery, which leads to the living spaces on the upper floors. The penthouse has impressive, 15-foot ceilings and breathtaking floor-to-ceiling casement windows to ensure a fabulous view of the city. In the dining room, there are jaw-dropping French oak floors and space to accommodate up to 12 people.
A pair of double French doors lead out to the beautifully landscaped terrace that encompasses 1,000 square feet and features a custom teak wood pergola and a plunge-pool area. While Trevor Noah is one of the country’s most well-recognized comedians, you can tell he was very serious when it comes to this remodel.
Detailed Features
The walls in Trevor Noah’s NYC penthouse feature walls in a variety of textures and upholstery materials like suede leather and hard plastering for a unique contrast. A hand-rubbed cortina leather wall is featured in the primary bedroom and dressing rooms. The en suite bathroom showcases incredible views of the city and the Hudson River.
The bathroom also features gorgeous limestone floors and a steam shower. The lower floor has three bedrooms, and one is currently set up as a home theater with wool Holland & Sherry upholstered walls.
This impressive penthouse leaves no stone unturned, with other details including a black-granite wet bar, a large marble fireplace, and a chef’s kitchen with two dishwashers. High-end furniture completed in suede leather upholstery is found throughout the home. The penthouse is located on the 17th and 18th floors of the building, which features one of the most incredible lobbies in New York City.
Guests are treated to large, southern views of New York City completely unobstructed by any other buildings close by. The massive windows allow natural light to flow into the penthouse, highlighting the unique wall textures. The building was originally designed in the 1920s by architect Ralph Thomas Walker and was converted into apartments in 2014.
More Than a Comedian
Trevor Noah certainly has a knack for comedy, but he’s also an author. He wrote the New York Times best-selling autobiography “Born a Crime” which talks about his childhood and growing up in South Africa. Noah has also been the host of two Grammy Awards. Noah was also the 2022 White House Correspondents Dinner host.
For the discerning buyer who’s looking for a large, luxurious penthouse in Manhattan, Trevor Noah’s digs should definitely be added to the list of possible contenders. With a clear focus on high design and luxury, it’s clear that he’s much more than a comedian – he’s also got a great eye for sophisticated interior design.
