Steve Martin, a well-known comedian, actor, writer, and bluegrass musician, recently sold his St Barts home called Villa Au Soleil, in 2015. It’s not known what it sold for, but the recent listing price was $7.78 million. Martins originally purchased the 3,000 square foot home in 2008. The home sits on a half an acre of land on a hilltop in Lurin overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and boat harbor. It’s secluded and private, which allowed Martin to enjoy a quiet getaway. Something that it’s new owner will enjoy, even if they’re not a celebrity.

The home has four bedrooms, each with en-suite baths, outdoor showers, and a terrace. Each room boasts ocean views, aided by floor to ceiling shuttered windows that open to the outdoors. The house style is a tropical colonial, with yellow painted walls and white beamed ceilings.
The home has plants all around, including surrounding the two-tiered infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. In the back of the property sits an ayoupa or a Balinese style pavilion. To get to this outdoor patio, you must follow a tiled pathway lined with fauna and a little pond. Once inside, you can enjoy the fresh air, curl up with a good book, or even take a little siesta.
The entire home has an open concept, with a horseshoe shape. The living sits in the back of the property, overlooking the pool and ocean beyond. Off the side of the living room is the dining room and family room. All have terracotta tile floors and vaulted ceilings. To the left of the dining room lies the kitchen. Beige cabinetry and a tiled backsplash line the walls and are complemented by the terracotta tile flooring.
The bedrooms have wood flooring throughout and bright walls to match the rest of the house. With each room having its own en-suite and terrace, it would be a great place to vacation with friends, as each couple would be able to enjoy their privacy while sharing the rest of the house. The primary bedroom is a little larger and includes a hot tub on its private terrace. You can take a break from the tropical, where stone walls in the primary bathroom complement the dark wooden cabinetry.
