Those little tiered trays and elevated stands are definitely popular items for the home, but they don’t always work when you put them next to your kitchen or bathroom sink. Most of these farmhouse-inspired accessories are made of wood and/or metal, which means they can get damaged, rusted, warped, or ruined over time.
Thankfully, TikTok user happyhome_withsara79 came through with an awesome video that will inspire you to try this super-easy technique yourself!

The Steps
First, she found a thick plastic plate and bowl in a nice modern black color on sale for just $.50 at Target! She’s already winning! She bought one of each, then took them home and peeled off the labels on the bottom.
Next, she sprayed the bottoms with a general household cleaner to make sure they were completely clean and dry. She used clear E6000 glue (you could probably use almost any glue that works with plastic) and made a ring of glue around the bottom rim of the bowl and then filled in the center with more glue just for good measure.
Once the bowl was nice and glued, she flipped it over and attached it to the bottom of the plate. She said she “eyeballed” the placement and didn’t measure anything, so it’s best to just try and get the bowl centered on the center of the plate so it’s all even once it dries. After the bowl and plate are attached, flip it over, and put something heavy on it so the glue dries overnight. Once it’s dry, voila! You have an adorable waterproof stand that you can use by the sink.
Not only does the black color of the plate and bowl look modern, but the dark color will probably do a good job of hiding splashes or spills. The durable material means this little stand can handle a fairly decent number of items on top. And the best part is that she already had the glue at home, so this little stand only cost her one single dollar!

I personally love the black color and the smooth curves of the plate and bowl since it adds a more modern touch than some of the wooden versions.
