While some homes build wine cellars, other wine loving homeowners include wine storage in their kitchen. There are 2 main types of in-kitchen wine storage options. The first is room-temperature wine racks which can built into cabinetry, the wall, the island or a stand-alone wine rack on the counter. The other is for chilling wine (i.e. white) via wine refrigerator.

Pros and cons of in-kitchen wine storage
- Looks great: The built-in wine racks can look fabulous especially when filled up with bottles.
- Convenient: If you drink plenty of wine or host guests frequently, it’s convenient to have a dozen bottles immediately available in your kitchen.
- Save fridge-space: If you opt for a wine fridge, it helps keep your main fridge space available for other items. I know we could definitely benefit from a beverage fridge. Which brings up another point… wine refrigerators can store any type of cool beverage.
