Born Kathleen Mary Griffin in 1960 in Oak Park, Illinois, world-famous comedian and actress Kathy Griffin packed her bags and headed to Los Angeles when she turned 18 to study drama at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She soon became part of the comedy troupe, The Groundlings, and by the 1990s, she was performing as a stand-up comedian and landed guest spots on several television shows, including the hit series, Suddenly Susan, on NBC.
She landed her own series, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, in 2005 on the Bravo channel and managed to nail two Emmy Awards for the series before it ended in 2010. She won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album in 2014.

Griffin has been praised over the years by Forbes and other financial leaders for paying cash for the real estate she has purchased and her dream home in Bel Air, California, is no exception.
