Decorating my home is one of the greatest pleasures in my life. I’m constantly moving around furniture, adding new pieces of artwork, rearranging where the plants live, incorporating new lighting, and I most recently started getting into changing the centerpiece to my dining room table.
While this may be the last thing on your to-do list, having a fun, beautiful, or elegant centerpiece on your dining room table ewewthat suits your mood or the seasons is always a nice thing to come home to. It’s also a great opportunity to get creative and make changes without rearranging the entire house!
This collection will go through eight wonderful centerpieces that you can use either for your kitchen space or your dining room table. Hopefully, you get tons of inspiration for your very own home table centerpiece creations.
1. The Thanksgiving Harvest Centerpiece
Layout: We’re starting out this collection with a beautiful kitchen setup. Lovely beige cabinetry is topped with stainless steel cupboards and neutral walls and curtains. Sandy floorboards feel very appropriate for the color scheme at work. This kitchen is elegant, modern, and very practical.
Dining Set: I personally adore this rustic dining table set. The live edge wood table resembles a picnic table, while smooth wooden chairs bring a little bit more elegance. The length and width of the table make it feel a bit like a harvest table – a great table to share an intimate meal, but still with plenty of elbow room.
Decoration: We can just pretend for a moment that the roasted turkey and bowl of grapes aren’t totally made of plastic. This simple but rustic dining table centerpiece idea feels so welcoming, especially with the glasses of wine just waiting to be sipped. Plain white dishes coincide with the overall minimal aesthetic of the home decor and centerpiece.
2. The Round Room Dining Centerpiece
Layout: This is a genuinely stunning kitchen design that would make any person a proud host. Rustic elements of wood bring a warm invitation, while gorgeous materials used for the backsplash and cabinets bring modern luxury into the mix.
Beautiful and dark hardwood floors are contrasted against stunning white walls and curtains, which again bounce off of a white marble countertop and backsplash.
Dining Set: A classic L-shaped kitchen is made unique by turning a generously sized kitchen island into its own little dining space, using the back wall of the kitchen island instead as bench seating. A round table set on the other side with a white top is modern and slick, while clear brass accent chairs feel very mode.
Decoration: This room doesn’t need very much in the way of decoration as the main features of the room make such a gorgeous impact. The dining room table centerpiece is in congruency with all of the other rounded features in the room: a stunning hanging light fixture with round bulbs, a round dining table (perfect for playing cards), and matching little black bowls with golden interiors.

3. The Simple Mid-Century Centerpiece
Layout: An exceptionally stylish kitchen space with a dining area is made remarkable through several features. A brick facade on the back wall brings a rustic charm, while white countertops are the perfect toppers for impeccable craftsmanship with the wooden cabinetry.
The room itself is so open and airy, thanks to the entirely windowed wall and skylights. Cement tiles are a popular choice for more modern kitchen designs, but everything all put together still feels very warm and inviting.
Dining Set: A super lightly stained birch wood table is long and narrow, making it the perfect table to host dinners with plenty of guests and also plenty of elbow room. I personally would have chosen a different set of chairs (maybe with a midcentury modern inspiration) to carry on with the wooden features of the room.
Decoration: Here, we see a wonderfully simple dining table centerpiece: an artisanal wooden bowl filled with some fresh fruit. Though the effect isn’t really felt from so far away, table decor as simple as this is really what this type of room demands. A still life!

4. The Modern Minimal Centerpiece
Layout: This super modern kitchen and dining room design really has it all. It’s sleek and sexy but still rustic and inviting. A classic L-shaped kitchen is rounded out with a huge center kitchen island with a built-in sink and is bookended with a lower breakfast bar made of wood and some cute little kitschy bar stools.
A vaulted ceiling makes way for some really exceptionally slick cabinets painted in black, providing a rather dramatic contrast against the white countertops and lower cabinets. Clever lighting tucked into the upper cabinets creates a welcoming ambiance.
Dining Set: This dining set almost feels like it was custom-built to match the aesthetic of the room. This huge dining table made of wood was painted black and is wide enough to host a truly enormous and extravagant meal. Matching chairs with a midcentury aesthetic comes with black leather cushions to bring comfort and style.
Decoration: You don’t totally notice how well put together this room is until you notice the beautiful centerpiece. A glass bowl is host to some large stones and topped with a green succulent plant. This shade of green is brought throughout the rest of the room with the bright green bar stool, the plant sitting on the kitchen counter, and the green leaves in the painting at the end of the room. Subtle, and gorgeous.

5. The Japanese-Inspired Mid-Century Centerpiece
Layout: We’re switching gears a little bit with this very modestly sized kitchen and dining area. The open-concept room is separated by a really gorgeous, higher-set kitchen island with a shining black countertop that matches the dramatically black floor.
This particular stain of wood is one of my favorites, and it’s very warm and shaded like sand. State-of-the-art stainless steel appliances feel correct, while a huge window ending the entire room lets in that heavenly natural light.
Dining Set: This is a rather standard dining table setting with a steel base and black topper. Modern-shaped white dining chairs are tucked in. This isn’t the set that I would have chosen for this rather stunning and simple kitchen space, but the centerpiece does really liven it up.
Decoration: A beautiful orange table runner really pops against the black kitchen table topper, while matching uniquely shaped bowls complete the table setting. The little white vases in wonky shapes bring a nice little touch of character to the dining table centerpiece and also do a great job of tying in the chairs to the space.
6. The Citrus Centerpiece
Layout: Elegance is really the only word that can be used to describe this magnificent kitchen space. White cabinetry is topped with marvelous white marble countertops, while white walls line white window frames.
Darker elements are found in the rich chocolate-stained wood flooring and lining the dining table chairs, while the dining table as well is host to a dark chocolate-stained table topper. This room is heavenly, elegant, yet completely utile.
Dining Set: This dining set is really one that invites you to stay a while. The entirely cushioned chairs have wooden foundations but very plush surfaces, allowing you to sit through dinner, drinks, and desserts without getting uncomfortable.
Decoration: In a room that is completely white and bright, having any type of color in decorative items becomes very dramatic. Those color pops become even more dramatic if they come from living things like bright citrus fruits or bundles of fresh flowers, as seen in this kitchen table decoration.
7. The Fresh and Fancy Centerpiece
Layout: This huge kitchen and dining room is modest in style but grand in its inviting ambiance. This giant L-shaped kitchen encompasses the whole room with a huge kitchen island set with a breakfast bar in the center.
White cabinets are topped with really gorgeous sage-colored marble countertops. White walls and white trim are the perfect choice, especially when considering the classic stain of wood used for the flooring.
Dining Set: This home really reminds me of the suburban life I grew up in. Nothing too flashy or over the top, but it’s just the right amount of classic and homey. A classic craftsman-style table is lined with standard wooden seating.
Decoration: As far as dining room centerpiece ideas go, it feels like a very natural choice to use live elements to liven things up! We see plants outside those gorgeous windows, a lovely potted plant above the sink, and a huge and happy vining plant as a simple centerpiece for the dining table decor. What a serene room!
8. The Cityscape Centerpiece
Layout: This is super nice and open for a metropolitan city condo space, which can sometimes feel a little cramped! The corner window really helps open the space up, making it feel like one huge room.
This L-shaped kitchen is centered with a lovely matching kitchen island that just so happens to be on wheels! Slate gray countertops feel very chic, while wooden cabinets are the perfect amount of rustic.
Dining Set: A quaint four-person dining set is sat right in front of a floor-to-ceiling window. Plush dining chairs surround a dark square table. This is the perfect-sized setup for an intimate dinner or a super long game of cards.
Decoration: I personally love it when a DIY centerpiece is a simple vase of flowers. The floral centerpiece of bright red fresh flowers brings the perfect pop of color, and actually really compliments that specific shade of cherry wood that was used for the cabinets.
