Nae is 42 and lives in Phoenix, Arizona, in an urban detached house with her fiancé, children, a parent or in-law, and other relatives. Six people live in the household altogether. Several household members contribute to the income, and everyone who works does so outside the home.
Household responsibilities are fairly shared, although Nae handles most of the dishes and kitchen cleanup. The family eats dinner together about three nights a week, but meals happen in different places on different nights. Nae says the household doesn’t spend much time together in one particular place and that she and her fiancé spend much of their time in their room watching TV.
One tradition is non-negotiable: birthdays mean getting together for dinner, no excuses. She also says the household doesn’t argue, although most family members are currently on edge because of problems with her brother-in-law. The household is completely different from the one she grew up in, with one major difference being that the parents are still together.

We stay in our.room for.the most part of everyday. Dinner around 430-5pm then I clean the kitchen. Then back to watching TV
