Welcome to “The Sutton,” which is a European-inspired, 1,974 square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. Although it’s a single-story residence, it’s got a bonus upstairs room that you can use as an office, a storage space, or a playroom.
Let’s Step Into “The Sutton” European-Inspired Home… First, the Facade

Featuring European-inspired architecture, the home combines brick and stone. The steeply pitched gable roofs and arched windows spice up an otherwise plain facade.
Main Level Floor Plan

At the center, we have a great room that flows into the kitchen and dining area. However, the bedrooms (including a master suite) are separated for privacy. You’ll find them in the right wing.

Floor Plan for the Bonus Room

Upstairs, you’ll find the bonus room with attic storage space. I love that the skylights bring natural light in. So, the room doesn’t have to be dim or lifeless.

A View of the Inground Pool and Two Porches at the Back of the House

In the back, you’ve got a covered porch, a screened porch, and an inground pool with two access points. Note how the dark-colored hipped roofline complements the brick exterior from this side.
Dramatic Octagon-Shaped Tray Ceiling With White Molding and Small Fan

A two-layered ceiling immediately draws the eye once you walk into this room. It just adds grandeur to the space.
Mind the Leather Couch on Your Way Out to the Porch

It might look like the leather couch is blocking the way. But there’s a bit of wiggle room on the side. Still, I’d move it around or replace it with a small armchair.
Open Kitchen With a Hefty Island and Patterned Backsplash

Warm hardwood floors work well with the white cabinetry and the granite island. I like the details on the island and cabinetry, but I’d go with a different backsplash.
Here Comes a Nice Dose of Contrast in the Form of Two-Toned Cabinetry

Black-and-white cabinetry is visually interesting, and the stainless steel appliances bridge the gap between the two colors. Note that carved details on the island look quite elegant from this angle as well.
A Closer Look at the Kitchen Island and Its Granite

We’ve got a gooseneck faucet over a double bowl sink here. There’s pendant lighting, too.
The Big, Busy Picture (And How to Change It)

Some folks will find the kitchen a bit overwhelming. Contrasting colors, patterned backsplash, lots of molding, and an intricate island design can create a busy atmosphere. If you prefer a less cluttered look, consider simplifying some elements. Maybe use a plain backsplash or opt for single-color cabinetry.
Bright Dining Area, Dark Dining Table

Wainscoting adds character and charm to the walls here. The gallery wall of family photos personalizes the space nicely. It might be fun to use a bold centerpiece rather than a bowl of fruit, though.
Now, to the Master Bedroom, Where a Step-Ceiling and a Patterned Rug Compete for Attention

A double tray ceiling adds depth to the room, while a neutral color palette creates a calming atmosphere. But that area rug stands out, doesn’t it?
Symmetrical Dual Vanity With Decorative Shelves

Now, that’s a distinctive vanity with lots of storage space. It’s easily the focal point of the primary bathroom.
Primary Bathroom With a Dark Hardware Set

Both a walk-in shower and a tub are available in the primary bathroom. I really like that dark hardware, though. It pops against the soft color palette.
Simple Home Theater With a Curved Leather Sectional, a Projector, and a Screen

As long as you’ll use the room for movie nights with a small group of friends, the current media room setup will do the trick. Otherwise, I’d add more seating options.
Utility Room With Warm Wood Flooring and Cream Cabinetry

In the utility room, you’ve got space for a small washstand, a washer, a dryer, and some storage space. Extra counter space for folding laundry wouldn’t hurt, though.
Covered Porch With a Summer Kitchen, a Ceiling Fan, and a Wall-Mounted TV

Here’s an outdoor setup that’s perfect for watching games and grilling steak. Just put some chairs in front of that wall-mounted TV and enjoy the afternoon.
Screened Porch With a View of the Pool

When the insects get too annoying, you can use the screened porch. It currently fits a four-seat outdoor dining table, but you might be able to get away with squeezing in a slightly larger set.
