Taking care of houseplants can be a tricky business, especially as they get larger and start to thrive. And while every plant certainly has its own unique set of criteria to keep it healthy, the monstera is one that a ton of people are adding to their collection. As the monstera plant grows larger, it also gets taller, which means that the stems may start to lean over.
Not only does this look terrible, but it can also cause the plant to die or the stems to snap off. Thankfully, creator secateur.me.baby has a beautiful and easy solution for you. I am gathering from the video that he made this product himself, but either way, it gives you a fantastic idea that should help give your monstera plants a new lease on life.

More Details
He explains that in nature monstera plants actually climb up. This obviously means that if your plant is drooping, it’s not a good thing. He then shows a really cool, squiggly-looking stake with a smooth surface and a cute orange color. Again, I believe this particular creator makes and sells these on his own.
So if you can’t get your hands on one or you want to try something else, keep in mind that the squiggly shape of the stake is important. Anyway, he says to take your stake and place it in the center of your pot and then pull the stem of your monstera upward so it’s vertical to the stake.
Once your plant is upright, you can use the grooves of the plant stake to attach the stem to it, adding a bit of pliable wire for support. Since these plants can get quite heavy as they grow, using supports is definitely recommended.
If you prefer, you can also use plant Velcro strips or special “tape” designed to keep plants attached to stakes. Once this step is complete, the TikTok creator says that your monstera will be staked the right way.
Feedback about this project
A ton of people were asking about the stakes in the video, and he did reply with a link to their website and store. That means you can get the exact same piece for your plants. It also looks like they make them in different heights so they can be used with a variety of other plants, too.
Viewer L loved the video and said,” Can you do a tutorial on how to use with a snake plant?” Snake plants are another houseplant that is trending these days.
The bulk of the comments were people asking about how they could buy the stake and whether or not the creator shipped to other countries (you can tell by his accent that he is Australian).
Whether you buy these exact plant stakes or you choose something else, I wholeheartedly agree that it’s an important step in practicing proper plant care. No one wants to see sad, drooping plants. Besides, they won’t grow the way nature intended them to if they’re tipped over.
Keep in mind that you can make a plant stake out of virtually anything, including just a simple piece of wood or metal. However, the curvy shape of this stake looked really cool against the tropical vibe of the monstera plant. If you’re a plant parent, get out there and see if you can find a way to stake your monstera so it looks beautiful and stays healthy for many years to come.
