Raised in Houston, Texas, actor Jim Parsons rose to fame and found his success on the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

However, before his rose to fame, Parsons moved out of Houston to complete his primary’s degree at the University of San Diego. He then moved to New York to work in the theater, where he launched his acting career. In September 2007, his brilliance in acting began to get noticed when he made his first appearance as theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. Parsons has done a great job of handling the difficult scientific and technical jargon used on the show, helping The Big Bang Theory to become one of TV’s most popular sitcoms. Due to his excellent portrayal of Sheldon, Parsons has won Emmy Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and was considered one of television’s leading comedic performers.

Parsons also appeared in some films such as The Normal Heart and Hidden Figures, as well as lending his voice to some animated films such as The Muppets and Home. The actor also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015 for his work on The Big Bang Theory.

Parsons married her long time girlfriend graphic designer Todd Spiewak on May 13, 2017 at the Rainbow Room in New York City.
