While lemon juice is more commonly used for food recipes, lime juice is common for drinks. Most recipes call for a measurement of lime juice and fail to say how many limes are needed for that. So we decided to publish this post. While there are some sites that set out how much juice is in one lime, I wanted to make sure the amount we reported is accurate. I went and bought a couple of limes and squeezed them with my trusty manual citrus squeezer.
Size of limes I used: Average size.
How much juice did I get from one lime?
- 1/4 cup
- 4 tablespoons
- 12 teaspoons
- 59 milliliters
- 2 fluid ounces
It was the same amount of juice I squeezed from a lemon.
Squeeze method: simple manual squeezer. See images below.
NOTE: If you squeeze by hand, you probably won’t get as much. I find those manual squeezer (see below) to be efficient when it comes to getting every drop possible.
