Count yourself lucky if you and your child likes your daycare provider. If so, take the time and spend a few dollars to thank them with one of these thoughtful gift ideas of for daycare and preschool providers.
If you genuinely like your childcare provider, whether daycare or pre-school, you’re fortunate. While there are many great facilities in North America, some parents are relegated to enroll their kids in unlicensed, overcrowded facilities due to a lack of available and/or money to pay for a better facility.
Our youngest son goes to pre-school part time and loves it. Our eldest went to the same place so we know the owner, who is about as good of a daycare provider as one can hope for. Yes, we’re very fortunate. We know she and her aids put a ton of effort into providing a top-notch facility and experience for all the kids. That’s why each year we take the time to buy her a gift as an additional “thank-you” for providing such a great experience for our boys.
If you like your child’s care provider, whether daycare or preschool, that means they put a lot of effort into providing a good service. While they aren’t cheap, they do earn their money so an additional gift is a nice touch. Here’s my list of some great gift ideas for preschool, childcare and daycare providers. FYI, you don’t need to spend a fortune. It’s the thought that really counts here.

1. Carefully selected book
There are many great books you can buy for your daycare provider that are under twenty dollars. Buy her books for her classroom or find out what kind of books she enjoys reading in her free time and buy a few of those.
How to choose a book for your child’s daycare provider?
My favorite way to find a good book as a gift is to check the following lists:
2. Engraved Pen
Daycare providers have a lot of paperwork and writing to do, and it is always best to do that with some great pens that write smoothly. My personal favorites are the Uni-ball brand pens.
3. A Customized Mug
I know that mugs are stereotypical and seemingly cliché, but daycare workers have to get up pretty early in the mornings and deal with loud, rambunctious children. A great cup of coffee can never be overestimated. When it comes in a beautiful, customized mug that can’t be easily stolen, it somehow just tastes even better.
4. A Cool T-Shirt
If your daycare provider is the tougher type, pick her up a fun t-shirt or hoodie for tough daycare providers. These are fun.
5. All-Occasion Stationary Cards
For the daycare provider who enjoys writing letters or thank you cards, pick her up some all-occasion cards with beautiful artwork on the fronts. She may even use one to say ‘thank you’ for the nice gift.
6. Handmade Gifts
Daycare providers do not get into the daycare business to become rich; they do it because they love kids. So what better gift for your favorite daycare worker than some sweet, heartfelt, handmade gifts from your child? Pinterest has tons of ideas for inexpensive gifts that your daycare worker is sure to love. My personal favorite is the bottle of ‘Chill Pills.’ All it takes is an old medicine bottle, thoroughly cleaned, some creative label making, and a bag of M&Ms or Skittles.
7. Burts Bees
Daycare providers are constantly having to wash their hands to keep them clean of germs in order to keep both themselves and the children healthy. Constant hand washing can take a toll on the hands. Pick up a Burts Bees Tips and Toes kit so that your child’s daycare provider can keep her hands and feet nice, soft, and moisturized.
8. Movie Gift Certificate
Why not give the gift of movies? $20 still gets you into the movies… just barely. I know I like getting a gift card for the movies. It’s one of those gift cards you’re gonna use at some point.

9. Daycare-Themed Picture Frames
Etsy has a great selection of picture frames that have adorable messages on them, such as “Thanks for watching me grow,” or “It takes a big heart to shape little minds.” Put a picture of your child in one, and it makes a beautiful gift for your daycare provider.
Check out this “Plant The Future” necklace – If your daycare provider is the jewelry type, you can’t go wrong with this beautiful necklace. It is made of stainless steel and goes with anything. Your daycare provider will love it.
11. A Gift Set From Bath And Body Works
Most women love Bath and Body Works, so grab your provider a gift basket full of her favorite scents. If you aren’t sure of her favorite scent, don’t hesitate to ask. If you want it to be more of a surprise, go with one of Bath and Body Works’ best-selling scents. With BBW’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, she can always exchange it for another scent later.
12. A Personalized Yankee Candle
Another delicious scent you can give to your favorite daycare provider comes in the form of a personalized candle from Yankee Candle. You can choose the scent and add a picture of your little one or your little one with his daycare provider for that personal, heart-warming touch. You can even add a short message to the candle, as well.
13. A Lovely Scarf
With the fall and winter months coming up soon, it is the perfect weather for wearing scarves. These Calvin Klein Chambray woven scarves are very pretty, and they won’t break your piggy bank, either.
14. A Box Subscription
Check out the many subscription boxes that are out there. Some examples include LootCrate (for the nerds), Blue Apron and Hello Fresh (for the chefs), and SketchBox (for the artists) just to name a few.
15. A Blender-To-Go Cup
If your daycare provider has a Vitamix Blender, this Vitamix Blender-To-Go cup is the perfect gift idea. This cup is spill-proof, and it makes blending up smoothies as easy as can be.

16. A Wine Backpack
Every daycare provider needs to relax, and what better way to do that than with a backpack full of wine! This wine backpack (wines included) will be the perfect addition to any daycare provider’s relaxing night under the stars. Make it extra special by gifting it to them with a bottle or two of wine.
17. Tickets for an Event
If you know your daycare provider enjoys a certain sporting event or cultural event, buy them a pair of tickets for an upcoming performance.
18. A Beautiful Bonsai Tree
I love bonsai trees. Get them a real bonsai tree as a gift; it adds peace and tranquility to any space, and your daycare provider will love how easy it is to maintain.
For the daycare provider who loves music, give her the gift of ad-free Pandora for one whole year. This allows her to sync her Pandora account to her phones, TVs, and computers and listen to her music all year long without all of those annoying ads and commercials interrupting the flow. Alternatively, get them a Spotify or Apple Music subscription. We have both Spotify and Apple Music subscriptions – totally worth the cost.
20. A Drone (seriously)
If you have a daycare provider who is wonderful with kids because she is still a kid at heart, why not buy her a toy? These drones from Amazon are tons of fun to play with, and they are not incredibly expensive. They are the perfect gifts for the young at heart.
21. A Delicious Gourmet Snack Basket
For the daycare provider who loves snacking, why not buy her a basket full of gourmet snacks? Gourmet Gift Baskets has a wide selection of gift baskets, including healthy snack baskets, wine and cheese snack baskets, nut-lovers snack baskets, and more.
22. Neck And Shoulder Massager
It is no secret that we love our children, but we know how much stress they can cause us. Now think of how much stress your daycare worker must be under with all of the children she deals with every day. Why not help relieve some of her stress with a heated neck and shoulder massager? She will enjoy it and be very grateful to you.

23. A New Desk Chair
When your daycare provider isn’t running around with your children, she needs time to relax. Give her a nice, ergonomic desk chair that keeps her comfortable and keeps her back pain at bay.
Now that most software is on the cloud, you don’t need massive amounts of memory and storage for a great laptop. One excellent option that’s a hybrid of laptop and tablet is a Chromebook and they aren’t that expensive. If you notice your daycare provider only has a huge desktop computer, get them a Chromebook so they have a mobile option.
25. A Leather Briefcase
Daycare providers have lots of important documents and other items they need to carry home with them in the evenings. Why not help yours do that in style with a gorgeous new briefcase?
I own a pair of Apple Airpods and they are very convenient. I don’t have to worry about wires getting tangled when on the treadmill or in the gym. Check what type of phone your childcare provider has and then get a wireless earphone kit that works with that phone. Be sure to note the type of phone because that will determine which set of earphones to buy.
27. A Hammock
Finally, why not give your favorite daycare worker the gift of peace and quiet? After a long day with lots of young children, that is all she really wants. Buy her this nice hammock so that she can set it up out under her trees and relax with a good book and a bottle of wine after a long day. It is truly the perfect gift.
