Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post on account of Craftstone Knives sending me a set of custom-designed knives at no cost. That said, the information included in this review is based on my personal use of the knives.
I seldom reply to emails offering free stuff. Most of it I don’t need or am not interested in.
However, when Craftstone Knives contacted me, they instantly piqued my curiosity. While we have a killer set of Henkel knives at home, I think you can never have too many knives so that interested me. Also, the concept of designing my own knives sounded very cool.
My only reservation is that Craftstone would compromise quality for the design-it-yourself option. While I’m all about custom knives, I sure don’t want them if they’re not good.
Despite my reservation, I replied to Craftstone’s email and said I’d love to take a set and check them out. They offered that I design them or they would do a variety of designs for me. I opted for them to surprise me with some designs. It’s not as if our family has a Coat of Arms or anything high-falutin’ like that.
And design they did. They sent a terrific variety of knife handles, types of knives and a couple included an engraving on the blade.
More importantly, the knives are really, really good. They are indeed chef’s knives.

Who should get these knives?
While they make for a great knife set for any home, they are also a terrific gift for friends as well as a corporate gift.
You can provide images that can be the engraving such as a company logo. In my view, this is a very nice gift idea in the business world.
How much do they cost?
Each knife’s price depends on the design features you add. The base prices for each knife ranges from $70 to $125. Additional features have individual pricing.
Are they good knives?
Okay, I get that you can design them and make them look cool, but are they good knives?
Yes, they are. They explain each component here. Pay particular attention to the blade quality information.
