In addition to a sweet tooth, I have what may be called a fruit tooth. I simply crave certain times of fruit—or rather fruity flavors—throughout the day. I am especially fond of apples, and any dishes with apples in them. A fresh salad that is composed of apples and pecans is the perfect coda to a big meal. I also like apple desserts. Fortunately for me, there is no shortage of apple pie desserts. Of course, none will ever surpass my grandmother’s recipe. It is the standard by which I measure all others.
I have recently discovered the joys of apple cinnamon dessert recipes. I did not really care for it before because I was not so keen on cinnamon as a condiment. However, tasting is believing, and my experiments with the recipes I have found changed my view.
Apple cinnamon desserts are great for all occasions. Here are some of the best recipes:
1. A British favorite has made its way to America in the form of apple cinnamon scones.
The apple cinnamon scone is the best Americanization of this sweet bread. It is perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
To make it, all you need is flour, cider, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. You should use only enough cider to create a glaze that you can pour over the scones. After the scones have finished baking, be sure to let them cool for ten to fifteen minutes before you pour the glaze over them.
2. A lovely blend of baked apples and cinnamon.
This is the first of many healthy-choice apple cinnamon treats. Though this recipe does have added sugar, you should feel free to reduce the amount recommended or replace the sugar with a sweetener. Granny Smith, Jonagold, or Braeburn apples go best with this dish. The point is to choose apples that are firm and can get through the baking without falling to pieces.
3. A fresh and creamy apple cinnamon fruit salad for any time of year.
This is a delicious and zesty salad that can be whipped up in very little time. This particular fruit salad contains apples, cranberries, walnuts, and a creamy dressing. Eating the salad will fill your body with fiber and will curb your appetite for more than a few hours.
4. A tasty side dish for the kids (and you can sneak one or two during the day).
Warm cinnamon apples are tender, sugar-sweetened fruit slices that can be served at breakfast or as a mid-day snack. They are also an ideal complement to pork chops or pork loin. If you are serving them as a dessert, they go well in a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Granny Smith or McIntosh apples are best for this treat.
5. This easy-to-make and highly snackable cinnamon sugar apple cake.
This is the kind of dessert or treat that is perfect for long and cool autumn nights. The dish can be prepared in under an hour. It is warm and fragrant with a delicious apple flavor. This recipe will give you a cake that is light and fluffy, sweet but not too sweet.
A dash of whipped cream or honey butter complements it well. And it is absolutely delicious with a fresh cup of black coffee. Heaven.
6. The perfect classic dessert to make with freshly picked apples.
This is the perfect fall dessert. Cinnamon apple crisp is not apple pie. Crisp is made with a thick bottom layer of fresh fruit and a top that consists of buttery crumble.
Unlike pie, crisp is completely crustless. This makes it full of apple flavor without any taste of oats. It takes an hour to cook apple crisp, and it is best served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
7. A delicious cinnamon apple cake recipe made from scratch.
This dish features a crunchy cinnamon topping and a drizzle of sweet frosting. To make it, you will only need a bowl and spoon. No electric mixer is required. Any type of fresh apples can be used.
When mixing the dry ingredients with the wet, try not to over mix. You should mix the sugar and cinnamon together using melted butter. You should carry on with your mixing until the two ingredients clump together like sand. You will then need to sprinkle the mixture on the top of your cake batter.
8. Homemade apple cinnamon rolls with a warm gooey center.
This treat is half apple pie and half cinnamon roll, and it can be eaten at the start of your day as breakfast or halfway through it as a snack. This recipe produces a cinnamon roll that is rich in the dough, which means you will need to use lots of milk, butter, and eggs. The result is a dish that is soft and supple, that rises beautifully when being baked, and has a satisfying buttery flavor.
9. This buttery apple cinnamon cake can be prepared in minutes.
Apple cinnamon white cake is one of the easiest dishes to make. If you are short on time or just can’t be bothered to spend hours in the kitchen, this is the recipe for you. All you need to do is use an electric mixer to beat white sugar and butter together until they are smooth and creamy. To make the treat even larger and more flavorful, add apples and cinnamon with brown sugar in layers.
10. Taste all the flavors of fall with this cinnamon apple pie bread recipe.
My palate is sensitive to the seasons. In summer, I crave strawberries and peaches. When the cooler weather comes, nothing but apples will do. If you have similar cravings, then this quick and easy recipe for cinnamon apple pie will satiate them.
The instructions in the link are pretty straightforward. But I would like to point out a couple of things. Be sure to beat in the eggs one at a time until they are thoroughly fused with the batter. You should also pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then add half the apples and brown sugar cinnamon mix, and then the remaining batter.
It takes around 40 minutes to bake this dish in a preheated oven.
11. Crispy smashed apples with cinnamon sugar is another tasty treat that can be eaten casually.
This dish combines toasted pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create a crunchy, nutty apple topping. You should also smash the fruit, as it helps create a crispy edge. And you should brush all sides of the apple halves with oil before you put them in the oven. This is another warm apple treat that is best served with a large scoop of ice cream.
12. A combination of two favorite desserts in one powerhouse breakfast.
What this recipe gives you is caramelized apple-and-cinnamon filling rolled up in fluffy dough and topped with a honey glaze. This is the kind of dessert that you can make in advance. You can put your prepared rolls in the fridge.
To do so, cut them and lay them in a greased baking dish. Secure the latter with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge. If you want to bake them the next day, remove the pan and let the dough rise for an hour before proceeding with the recipe.
13. Indulge yourself with this tasty cinnamon apple and pecan combo.
This is a low-sugar dish that is sweetened with xylitol and topped with pecans. When preparing the batter, you should pour the butter and xylitol into a bowl filled with flour, oats, cinnamon, and baking powder. Add egg yolk and milk and mix it all with a hand whisk until even and smooth.
It should take no longer than 45 minutes to bake. It is best served with Greek yogurt or cream.
14. Here is another great cinnamon roll combination.
This is a great dessert for the autumn holiday season. It is easy to make and has only 5 ingredients. A couple of points I want to highlight. It is best to use fresh apples. After you peel them, cut them into thin slices. You should also cut each cinnamon roll in half and roll them out with flowers until thin.
You should also allow the pie to cool before drizzling it with icing.
15. Fresh apples, nuts and cinnamon make apple squares the tastiest of treats.
This is a great treat to layout for everyone to enjoy at their leisure. When making them, make sure you blend in the flour mixture thoroughly, and then put in the apples and walnuts. You should bake for 30 minutes in a preheated oven. Then cool in the pan and cut into squares. Finished bars should spring back when lightly touched.
16. Cinnamon baked apples is a quick and easy dessert recipe for the fall and holiday seasons.
It is pretty straightforward to make this dish. All you need do is peel and slice apples, mix them in a baking dish together with the ingredients listed in the recipe link. You then want to bake the apples until they are tender.
One of the best things about making this dessert is the mouth-watering aroma it gives off. They will feel your whole house with the scents of Christmas.
17. Break out the skillet for this delicious apple cinnamon dish.
Fried apples with cinnamon are a great combination. This dish can be a tasty complement to your breakfast or dinner, and it can be made in less than 15 minutes. All you need to do is melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Then put saute apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the melted butter until they are all golden and tender.
18. The sharp flavor of apple and the sweetness of caramel come together in this apple cinnamon recipe.
To get the tastes you want, it is best to follow the instructions for the letter. Caramel apple cinnamon buns are a great dessert for almost any occasion. This is a kind of gourmet dish because you will need to make the dough from scratch, kneading it by hand for up to 10 minutes.
When preparing to spread the soft cheese-icing sugar-cinnamon mixture over the buns, be sure to do so when they are still slightly warm. This will ensure that the icing drips into the swirls of the buns without melting completely.
19. Here is a little known treat known as apple cinnamon babka.
This recipe features sweet apples and thick cinnamon filling inside of a rich buttery dough. You can top the loaf with brown sugar cinnamon crumble topping, which you should bake until it is golden brown.
For the dough, you will need milk, yeast, sugar, butter, egg yolks, salt, and flour. Take note: only use egg yolks. They make the richest tasting dough. And in this dish, it is all about the dough.
You should also take note of the extended rise time. The dough is rich with fat, which means it takes longer than other doughs to rise.
20. Delicious baked cinnamon apple slices with gooey apple caramel.
This is another relatively healthy (or perhaps less unhealthy) apple cinnamon dessert. You should use Granny Smith apples for it. Combine the apples with brown sugar, corn starch, butter, leman juice, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. You should stir these contents until the apples are fully coated. Be sure to bake the dish uncovered.
21. An apple cinnamon breakfast roll that you can make in advance.
This is one that can be put together pretty quickly the night before. It is the perfect breakfast to prepare if you and your family have to get up early the next morning and there will be no time for a larger breakfast.
The apple pie filling is inside the cinnamon roll dough, which makes for a breakfast bake that is sure to be filling and tasty.
22. The ultimate upside-down cake.
The upside-down cake comes in many forms. And yes, there is even an apple cinnamon version of this popular dessert dish. The great thing about an upside-down cake is that the top of it is already frosted when it comes out of the oven.
Here are a few tips to get the best results. You should use ripe apples that are firm and sweet. Take a few minutes to arrange the apple slices in neat circles at the bottom of the pan before you start baking. You should also use melted butter, which adds flavor and produces less air in the batter. Cooking the apples in the topping creates fruit-infused caramel sauce that will only to the cake’s tastiness. You should use apple juice in the cake instead of milk to enhance even the apple flavor.
23. Another way to make an apple cinnamon croissant.
This is a kind of croissant cake that is delicious. A few things to take note of in the recipe. You should use the slicer on your food processor if you have one. This is the best way to make the apples the same size. If you are without such equipment, a slicing board will do. Just try to make the slices as uniform as possible.
You should also remove all seeds from the core of the apple, and peel the latter before you bake.
24. It is easier than you think to make your own donuts.
Apple cinnamon donuts make for the tastiest of treats. They are perfect for any time of year but are especially good during the fall with a cup of hot apple cider (yum!)
Baked donuts are a little healthier than fried donuts. But in truth, no one eats donuts to be healthy so you should feel free to indulge yourself with the sugary and sweet ingredients. Apple cinnamon donuts baked in the oven are the perfect treat at any time of year, especially in the fall and winter. Since these donuts are baked, they’re healthier than typical fried donuts.
Granny Smith apples are the best ones for this dish. You will need to cut each apple into quarters, remove their cores, and grate them. The latter task is best completed with a box grater. You can bake with the skin on or off. I prefer skinless apples.
25. Oatmeal bar snacks with a twist of apple flavor.
This is one of my favorite things to make. It comes in handy as a snack you can take to work or have throughout the day if you work at home (which I do). Before you get going with the baking, you will need to remove the core of the apples and slice them into thin pieces. Then place these slices into a large bowl and mix with sugar, cinnamon, and corn starch. Follow the recipe link for the rest of the instructions.
It should take you no longer than half an hour to bake this dish. Make sure it is cool before you cut it into snack bars.
